Any unusual skin lesion or "mole" should be seen by a physician. The skin lesion may be increasing in size or have an unusual color. Skin changes like itching or pain may also be present. These can occur anywhere on the body.

A biopsy can be performed in my office using a local anesthetic. A documented cancer may need a larger procedure under a general anesthetic to remove all of the tissue and prevent future spread. Occasionally a skin graft is necessary to achieve closure of the wound.

Recovery depends on the type of procedure. This can last anywhere from approximately one to four weeks. Please get a hold of me to discuss any specific questions.
